Playstation 3 controller

My first attempt at customizing a Playstation 3 controller.

BUILDS

I had two controllers (a black and a pink) to customize. I decided to go with the black one. My pink one was for my wife. This is my first time soldering so if I mess up, I don't want to mess up her controller. I did have to order some stuff on eBay but I got my soldering gun at Radioshak and other equipment at Fry's. Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag is coming out and I'm a huge fan of the series. Let's go!!

I disassemble it so I can take the guts out and just have the shell to paint white. I taped the back sticker instead of ordering a new one.

I went with Chrome spray paint on a white background. I cut out the stencil for the logo and Edward but he is hard to make out at certain angle with the color choice. I am in love with how the logo turned out. Insane!!

So, here is the fun part. I had to drill a hole for every button except the D-pad (that gets two). That is 13 Blue 3mm LED. Now I have to figure out how to fit 26 extra 28awg wires in the original case. this will be interesting. Hot Glue to the RESCUE!!!

TESTING WAS SUCCESSFuL.

Here it is. All complete. it was sold on eBay for at cost because it was my first controller. I didnt want to sell something I wasn't sure how well it last. It's been years since then and I hope it is still functional today. It was fun designing the shell but soldering sucked. I have gotten better at my skill so I might do another one.
